I want to start out by asking this question.  What is your favorite Scripture verse?  Why?

My favorite verse for the last couple years has been from Joshua 1:3.  It says this “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.” Joshua 1 talks about the commission of sending Joshua out to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land.  Friends, I have been foolish. I have just read my verse for my own pleasure, but God desired so much more for me to see, in which I would love to share it with you!

You may be familiar with Joshua 1:9, just a few verses lower.  Now this verse says “Have I NOT commanded you?  Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  What are the key words for you in this?  Obviously, God is with us wherever we go.  But after reading this verse a few times, the word COURAGE kept on sticking out to me.  As I started to think into this Scripture, I felt like I was supposed to be bold in my prayers and I’m not joking, but I have seen God answer these prayers.  He is a good Father who desires to give His children blessing after blessing. (Luke 11:11-16).  So, I now want to share some blessing with you that the Lord has blessed me with!

As you may or may not know, missions in a foreign country can be lonely sometimes, as well it can be really hard to explain the many facets of the new culture and people.  I started praying that God would bring people to Romania to actually see what He’s doing here.  God did just this.  For 2 weeks, Dave and Michelle Snyder came and blessed our ministry in many ways, but most of all they pressed into what God had for them/us for the couple weeks.  What’s so cool though, is that my boyfriend and I have both been praying that God would bring people to us who could help teach our skillsets to men and women from the community in Daneasa.  God did just that…David is very similar to Cornel, as Michelle is very similar to me. Michelle’s gifts are work done by hand, such as crocheting and sewing.  It was a huge blessing having them here and they encouraged us very much.

Similarly, I have had this desire to start making baby blankets with Scripture, therefore the babies are literally be covered with Scripture.  They would be used as a form of evangelism to young and single mothers. Well, after some time in prayer, God has provided me a sewing machine!  I will start making blankets really soon, as I have all of the supplies I need!

I know the majority of this blog is about the goodness of God and the blessings that He brings, but unless we are bold and courageous to ask Him for these things, how will we receive that blessing?

Challenge and question for you: How have you been courageous and bold in asking God for something that will further His kingdom?  I would love to know your responses and ways to pray for you!  Either post on here or on the Facebook wall!
