The last couple weeks have been CRAZY! I’m not kidding. As you all know, I am working alongside Adventures in Missions. I have been focused on doing administration for a few of their teams and I can only tell you one thing…THIS SUMMER IS GOING TO BE NUTS! Currently (as I’m writing this), there is a team of 8 working alongside the ministry of Hope Church. Around this time next month, there will be a team of 24. Then…in 2 months, there will be a team of however many. On top of all of these teams, we will also have World Race squads for the months of July, August and September.
I can tell you again, one thing…THIS SUMMER IS GOING TO BE NUTS! Hopefully by now you all know that my heart is not in logistics and administration, but is in the relationship aspect of ministry. Today (Tuesday, June 14th), I had my last day of school for the year and to be honest, I think I will miss the children dearly. Even though, I have had some big challenges in the school this year, I really enjoyed getting to know the children and God has really used this opportunity bring me deeper into relationships in Daneasa. Through teaching English in the school district, so many more people are open to who I am, even though I am a “pocait,” as known as the derogative word of “repenter.” As well, teaching English, I have been able to form deeper relationships with older siblings of the children that I have been teaching.
Preschool: As you can tell it can be a bit crazy sometimes.
For example, I have been teaching Bianca English in the preschool class. Her sister, Rodica is 12 and has such a sweet heart. Occassionally, she comes to check on her sister and sees that I’m teaching, so out of jealously, she wants to come to English class as well. Through this, I have also been able to share Christ with their mother, who attended my crocheting class a couple months ago. And another opportunity is coming…next month, I will be going to the Black Sea with a couple girls that I really plan on discipling. Rodica is one of these girls. Their mother is completely open to the fact that Rodica has the opportunity to go, because she sees that I’m not a threatening person. Praise God for this!
1st grade: Not everyone stayed for the picture.
It’s funny to me that I could either focus on the fact that there is so much work to do for these upcoming teams OR I could focus on the fact that God is doing so much in Daneasa. If I continue to keep my eyes on the work that’s before me for logistics, I will lose sight of what God is doing. I know that I dare not do this…
How about you? What is taking your eyes off of what God is doing in your life? Is it work? Is it your family and the past issues that your family has gone through? Is it relationship struggles? God wants to show you what He’s doing around you, so what’s it going to take to keep your eyes focused on him?
I love what God is doing in and through you in Daneasa! Praying for you 🙂
Beautiful Rachel, you’ve got it . . . focus on what our dear Lord is doing and then watch how He works through you and be amazed! He is good and He is using you for His glory in Romania! What a gift! Sending hugs!
