Happy August everyone! I hope everyone is doing well and that you are enjoying the rest of the summer before the chaos of school season starts again! Let’s just start this blog by saying that God is good! Everything that He does is good and wonderful and I can completely say that this is my story with Hope Church in partnership with Adventures in Missions (AIM).
When I was on the World Race with AIM, I had an amazing opportunity to come to Hope Church on my race. While I was here, I knew that something was different in comparison to the other countries, but wasn’t 100% sure what that was. After a couple short-term trips after the World Race, the Lord revealed to me that He desired for me to be in Romania. To do what? I wasn’t 100% sure, however after studying the language and culture, it became clear to me that I was to focus on the youth in the villages. After almost a year of prayer and asking the Lord specifically where I was supposed to be, He confirmed that to me (and Cornel) that we were supposed to be in Daneasa. At this point, I knew that the Lord was burdening my heart so heavily for the Romanian people that to split my time between the Romanian people and administration would be too much. I had promised to give AIM 2 years and to do administration whole heartedly, so that is what I am currently doing. However, I know that my heart is elsewhere.
I have NOTHING negative to say about Adventures in Missions. The people in the office and what they stand for is amazing and I will continue to remain in contact with those I have worked with. However, God continues to break my heart for more and more relationship with the people. This means that starting October 1st, 2016, I will be switching organizations. I know where my heart is and with who and I know it’s what God is calling me to. I will be 100% in the village doing ministry amongst the youth, as well as teaching skills such as English, sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Again, I am so thankful for the relationships formed and work accomplished through Adventures in Missions. In a sense, they are yet another “pocket” of family for me. I am waiting in anticipation to see what God does with and through them in the future. Until September 30th, I am still raising support through Adventures in Missions. Technically, I am under support (even though I am changing organizations). I still have close to $3,000 that I need to raise in order to meet the end of the year amount. After September 30th, I will be receiving support through CTEN (Commission to Every Nation), as this is the new organization that I will be switching to. For more info, please message me personally.
Thank you all for your faithful support in following what God is doing in this journey and I will continue to raise you all up in prayer! -Rachel
