I have had quite a few responses about buying a home here in Romania.   I am so encouraged by all of you and the way you choose to pursue God’s voice in this and encourage me with that.   A couple days after I posted on Facebook about buying a home, I received a message from a friend from my World Race explaining her heart and how she wants to support me.   You know who you are and to this day, I can’t even begin to tell you what joy and peace my heart received the day you told me about your contributions.

I will tell you honestly about this, because vunerability is good, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰  I have had days where I have felt like owning a home in Romania is absolutely ridiculous.  Why would I buy a home here when I’m not married nor is it even my home country?!   Rachel, you are out of your mind.   These have been some of the thoughts in my head, however the fact that Raul asked me if I wanted to buy a house was simply a confirmation.   There’s been more.  There have been challenges.   PATIENCE.   I struggle with patience and to this day, I will tell you that I want that house.   I want it now, but all good things come with time, as hard as this is to swallow.

But here’s where faith and trust come in.

Romans 5:3-5 say: “And not only this, but we also exalt in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”

Trust.   I keep hearing God say “Do you, Rachel, believe I can do this?”  The biggest revelation I’ve had today has been: all good things come in their own timing.   God’s got this, He’s got even bigger things in store for the house than I can even begin to expect.   There are many things I desire to happen in this house, including just a few here:

Prayer nights: intercession for Draganesti and for the youth.  In fact, I want the youth to be praying for their communities here in Romania.  My house is going to be a house of prayer.

Specific room for searching Alumni Racers:  They would have a place to stay, away from World Race, but still with World Race community.   It would be almost like a middle ground to search whether Draganesti is where they are to stay.

An open home: my house will be a home of encouragement.   Anyone is welcome in and come and stay.

I can only see the beginning of this property.   But there are going to be stories I didn’t plan nor things I expected, but praise God for those.   I have some pretty big dreams for this place, but God’s got even bigger!

(I promise I’m not trying to withhold photos from you, I just haven’t been able to get onto the property yet.  Hopefully sometime this week, I can go.)

I do have this one…thank you Paula for taking this!

*This is the backyard.   My backyard currently is a vineyard.   More details about this in the next blog.*
