What a busy summer, it has been….and it’s just about to get busier!  I’m just giving you a heads up that I might not get the opportunity to blog every week this summer.  Looking ahead at my calendar, there is a team for almost every week until I come home in October.  In case you are asking, “Wait, what?! She’s coming home?” I’ll only be home for a few weeks. In those few weeks, I would love to share what God is doing in my heart and life here in Romania.  In fact IF you live in Wisconsin or the Midwest, I am having an event at my home church in Madison, WI on November 3rd at 7 pm.   (Check out my Facebook event).

 Okay….Details

1) I think you know this, but I had the opportunity to lead an AIM trip and it was a good time!  As the leader, I was able to step into ministry I typically do not have the chance to do.  The more and more I step out into evangelism, the more I think I could do more evangelistic things, including home visits. I love ho

me visits and really seeing people where they are at.  Part of me thinks that I will end up doing home visits my entire life that I’m here in Draganesti/Romania. Throughout the trip, I realized how much God is who gives direction. I know that sounds vague, but it’s so true.  So many times I have tried to do it on my own, but this doesn’t work!  Instead of finding success, I would just get stressed out.  In these moments, I need to turn to God to find strength and clarity THROUGH Him.  This trip was from June 6-14th.

2) I think I have a new roommate!   Her name is Amber and

her friend, Kelsey, was here in February with the World Race.  Amber has a heart for the Roma people, which are commonly known as gypsies.  Amber was here for the whole month checking things out to see if this is where God would be calling her.  Within the first week, God had spoken very loud and clear telling her this was in fact her place.  I’m so excited for Amber to come, as she has a similar background.  She’s a single American woman in her 20’s.  Thank you Jesus for answering my prayer for someone to move in!

3) English…This is definitely something you can be praying about.  I believe the Lord has so much for the youth here in Draganesti and Olt County, but the enemy has them so enchained in darkness.  As you know, I started English on June 20th.   It came as quite a shock/burden that only one student showed up.  I’m not 100% sure why Ana was the only girl who showed up, but I know that the Lord’s heart is stirring for the youth.  Please pray for more opportunities to teach English and for the sincere hearts of the youth who desire English.

4) Finally….this is another blog in itself, but the Lord is at work here in Draganesti.   It’s so hard to explain, but do you ever get feelings of excitement that you just can’t explain?  Yeah….that’s been me for the last 2 weeks.  God is bringing so many people here that I can’t help to think that there’s going to be an awakening.   Let me think of this for the next couple weeks and I’ll try to write something about what God has for Draganesti!

Love you all and am asking you to partner with us in prayer and intercession.  You are a part of our team.  We need to be covered in prayer, so please cover us with your prayers!

  3. It’s so fun to hear what’s going on in your life and ministry in Draganesti, Rachel!! I’m praying that our Father will give you His peace and courage to do home visits … it’s such a great way to see into a person’s heart and to show them that you care … in the space where they feel most comfortable!! You are such a precious, hospitable, loving person … our Lord will use you to change many hearts for His Kingdom!! GO RACHEL!!

I’m also praying that more kids will begin to come for English lessons … may our Lord shine His light in the darkness, open the hearts of the children and lead them to you!! Our God is infinitely greater than that darkness. Remember … He lives in you and He tells us in His Word (in 1 John 4:4) “greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” You have power living in you, girl!! Thanks be to God!!

AND I’m thanking God for sending Amber to Draganesti for ministry and that you will have a roommate!! I knew Kelsey’s friend was going for a visit, but I didn’t know it would be this soon!! That’s great!! I love it that so many young adults are being called for missions and that y’all are saying, “YES”!!

    I love you!!
