I don’t know what you think about the New Year or if you made resolutions for the upcoming year.  I was looking through Facebook earlier today and one of my friends had posted this song by JJ Heller. It is exactly what I think we all need to hear.  We need to forget the hardships of the previous year and continue to strive to seek God’s greatness in the year to come.

Last year, definitely had it’s ups and downs.  Moving and living in a foreign land is not easy, even if it is Europe.  The enemy tried to discourage me through many things, however the Lord redeemed every situation.  Last year, I learned that it’s not easy to be a believer.  We are pressed and crushed on every side.  Whether we realize or not, this is the truth.  We have been set free through Jesus’ blood to live in a world that so desperately needs Him. We have been called to be His hands and feet, even when times are hard.

Last year, GOD brought sons and daughters back to Him. GOD showed up in many ways.  GOD proved Himself real to hundreds of people in Oltenia.  When our surroundings seem so clouded, we need to know that the reason we are here on the earth is for Jesus alone. HE is the sole reason and if we continue to keep our eyes rested on the Lord, our years will be wonderful!  The moment we take our eyes off of Him means chaos.

So, 2016…here’s to you.  My New Year’s resolutions include:

1.  Using every opportunity I have to meet neighbors and be willing to converse with them about pretty much anything.

2.  To be FLUENT in Romanian.  I’m getting there, but I want to be able to communicate very well.

3.  To be more organized. 😉

Love you all!  Happy New Years!

One response to “YES! NEW YEAR, NEW GROWTH!”

  1. Resolution #1 is so huge, Rachel! One of the greatest challenges for many Christians, including myself, is to be ready to talk to other believers and non-believers alike and to talk to them about whatever is on their mind, whether it’s directly about Jesus or not. I will continue to pray for you, my incredible friend. I will pray that God gives you the words (both the message and the actual Romanian words) to answer their questions, guide the children’s futures, and show them the love of Christ! Sending you love and hugs from Madison! Happy New Year! This is going to be another outstanding year.
